Meteorite Falls 1900-2013
Meteorite falls charted against the geomagnetic field by class, including information on yearly sightings and discoveries, count and mass by meteorite class.
The geomagnetic field is mapped using polar coordinates centered around the north geographic pole in intervals of 5000 nanoteslas (nT) with the north and south magnetic poles. I used the 2000 Epoch for a simple base of the field as the intensity has fluctuated little during the past century and the location has changed even less. I decided to use the field as a background to notice any correlation with meteorite falls, particularly within the iron and stony iron classes.
