Identifying the top trends in reported diseases can help suggest a trend in incidence of diseases. But how do you define the "top trends"? We visualized three different ways to approach this notion.

The correlation between incidence of reports and incidence of disease is uncertain; the incidence of reports per country reflects many other factors (including population size, and size of media and health infrastructures). Given the complexity of variables, we chose to focus our main visualization not on comparing the number of reports per country, but on the subject of the reports: which diseases are most reported in which country? In our visualization, every country is represented, regardless of the total amount of national reporting.
