How much quality of life that a ton of water can trade for?

This visualization shows the relationship between 2 set of data, quality of life index and freshwater withdrawal. By doing so it shows us a glimse of how effficent we are at using water.
Do we need a lot of water to have a good quality of life?
Can we have a good quality of life without using massive amout of water?
