China´s Business Regulation "Landscape"

Since more than 12 years, business regulations in 190 countries are regularly benchmarked by World Bank and IFC. This project is supported by the contributions of more than 10200 lawyers, accountants, judges, engineers, architects, businesspeople and public officials in 189 economies (see http://www.doingbusiness.org/).The categories are as follows: Starting a Business/Dealing with Construction Permits/Getting Electricity/Registering Property/Getting Credit/Protecting Investors/Paying Taxes/Trading Across Borders/Enforcing Contracts/Closing a business.

This dataSculpture of MeliesArt is a piece of Visual Storytelling: Data on China´s rankings in the named 10 categories have been taken from World Bank´s excellent “Doing Business“ Yearly Reports (2007-2014) and modelized by a CAD programm to get something like a “mountain landscape“ of China´s business environment. High peaks mean bad rankings- compared to the situation in 190 other countries. The model has been printed in 3D as a physical dataSculpture.
China´s rankings in the different categories were/are widespread and offer some challenges for business mountaineers. China experts might recognize the „Get Credit Mountain of 2007“, the „Construction Permit Peak of 2014“ and the „Enforcing Contracts Rift“
You can print this dataSculpture for your conferences or your desk. Don´t choose a smaller model size than advised to keep the dataSculpture´s solidity.
