A shocking new study by Weight Watchers has revealed that Great Britain is chomping its way through a mountain of food every year, with individuals consuming 43% more food than they should be.

Brits are consuming up to seven times the recommended amount of certain food groups, with the worst offender being fatty spreads like butter and margarine. Perhaps unsurprisingly, one area in which Britain’s food consumption is sadly lacking is fruit and vegetables – with most people only eating around a quarter of the recommended amount.
